Do you pay attention to what you eat? Every time we put a fork to our mouths (or spoon or cup), we have the opportunity to either build up our body or tear it down.
Science has discovered all kind of miraculous compounds inside REAL, living foods that can benefit our bodies in so many ways.
Here are some of my favorites:
Turmeric: What makes this orange powder so special? It contains curcumin, a potent antioxidant which supports normal inflammation response. Try making turmeric tea or spice up your meal with turmeric, black pepper, and coconut oil. (The curcumin is thought to be best absorbed with fat and black pepper!)
Ginger: Gingerol, the active ingredient in fresh ginger is thought to create an unfriendly environment for viruses and bacteria! We like to juice it (just a little, it’s spicy!), or make a tea by boiling the fresh slices for 5 minutes and then letting them steep.
Wheat Grass: High in chlorophyll, wheat grass is a powerful detoxifier. Don’t go crazy with it! More is not better, an ounce working up to 2 ounces and then take breaks from it.
Lemon: Helps your body detoxify and maintain proper pH levels.
Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar: Contains enzymes and friendly bacteria for your gut, high in acetic acid which also makes an unfriendly environment for microbes. Try a tablespoon in lemon water in the morning!
Garlic: Those tiny bulbs are packed with nutrition! Garlic is thought to support the body in maintaining normal blood pressure levels as well as a healthy immune system. Please pass the garlic! (You can use your Thieves mouthwash later.) 😉
Ningxia Red: The Ningxia wolfberry is thought to have the highest known antioxidant level of any whole food. It’s also a rich vegetarian source of zinc, which plays an essential role in immune function. It’s a great way to get nutrients into picky kids! If you haven’t tried Ningxia yet, we can hook you up! 🙂 #younglivingcommunity
Why would we try and subsist on yucky processed, fake foods when we have so many delicious and nutritious options? 😄 Honestly I have been stuck in a rut lately and have not been eating as well as I should! I’m working on giving my body a boost with all this good stuff!
How about you? What are your favorite super foods? 🍏
